Celebrate Virtual New Year’s Eve with DuPage Children’s Museum

December 10, 2020

New Year’s Eve might look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a total blast! DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) brings the fun into homes with Bubble Bash in a Box. Enjoy a box filled with fun and festive activities and other celebratory surprises including exclusive access to digital content with helpful “how-to” videos for arts and maker activities. Get families moving with Family Yoga, musical performances, and a lively countdown with Museum friends.

“Bubble Bash in a Box is our way of spreading the holiday spirit in a safe way this season,” explains Cassie Coffey, Sr. Guest Experience Manager, DuPage Children’s Museum. “Bubble Bash in a Box is packed to the brim with activities reminiscent of the Museum’s annual kid-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration.”

This annual celebration, now in its 19th year, has become a holiday tradition for families to celebrate together. Although Bubble Bash cannot happen in the Museum this year, families can still spend the holiday creating memories, taking part in special activities, enjoying virtual musical performances, and more with DCM!

Little Miss Ann and Duke Otherwise are each preparing virtual performances that will have families singing along and dancing together. Little Miss Ann has a down-to-earth yet upbeat, interactive and energetic performance. She is an award-winning Chicago Kids Musician, a former Chicago Public School teacher, an instructor at the Old Town School of Folk Music, an activist, a mom, and a first generation Filipina American. Duke Otherwise is a playful wordsmith, a spirited performer, a skilled guitarist and captivating tap-dancer. Using his distinct baritone, he sings his hilarious and imaginative songs that all ages will delight in together.

Bubble Bash in a Box allows families the opportunity to create and celebrate at their own pace. Some families may choose to do everything at once while some may choose to extend the experience over several days. Creative exploration can happen whenever it's most convenient for each family. The program is a fun and flexible way to celebrate the holiday. The digital content will be available through January.

Bubble Bash in a Box is on sale now. Early Bird Savings are available through December 14 for $25 per box for DCM members and $30 per box for non-members. Beginning December 15 the price increases to $35 per box for DCM members and $40 per box for non-members.

DCM has partnered with local social service agencies to share the NYE celebration. “For an additional $15, families have the opportunity to help us share the fun and Donate a Box directly to a child in an underserved community through World Relief, Jumpstart 131, or DuPage Pads,” Coffey shares. “We appreciate everyone’s generosity during this traditional season of giving, which has been made more difficult due to COVID-19.”

Boxes can be purchased online at dupagechildrens.org/bubble-bash. Don’t wait, a limited number of boxes are available.
