Museum’s New Year’s Eve Celebration Returns In-Person

Create and celebrate together at Bubble Bash – A Family-Friendly NYE

December 15, 2021

The entire family can ring in the New Year together at Bubble Bash – A Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve at DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) on Friday, December 31, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Families will spend their morning creating lasting memories, exploring the Museum’s hands-on exhibits, taking part in special activities, enjoying live musical performances, and more!

This year’s live entertainment includes Little Miss Ann along with a DJ from Bach to Rock Naperville. Little Miss Ann delivers a down-to-earth yet upbeat, interactive and energetic performance. She is an award-winning Chicago Kids Musician, a former Chicago Public School teacher, an instructor at the Old Town School of Folk Music, an activist, a mom, and a first generation Filipina American. Little Miss Ann will perform at 10:30 a.m. and Noon. A DJ from Bach to Rock - Naperville will keep the energy high with family-friendly music throughout the event.

Special activities include creating festive party wear, DIY confetti poppers and party rockets, glowing art, firework painting, a photo booth from RGML Entertainment, and more. New this year, Museum educators will “wow” guests with bubbling fun during a “cool” science show featuring the powers and properties of liquid nitrogen.

“This event is all about creating memorable experiences--whether families are creating their own musical instruments to make some noise at the countdown or experimenting with fluorescent paint in The Studio,” said Chris Berg, Public Programs Manager, DuPage Children’s Museum. “Children will have the opportunity to play with our exhibits and also create an array of items to celebrate the new year before our ‘choose your own countdown’ opportunities.”

The action-packed morning includes two lively New Year’s countdowns taking place at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. At each time, four different countdowns will take place throughout the Museum and attendees can choose to ring in the New Year with confetti, bubbles, DIY party rocket launch, or a sensory-friendly quiet countdown.

This annual year-end celebration, now in its 20th year, has become a holiday tradition for families to celebrate together.

Face masks are required to be worn over the nose and mouth by everyone ages 2 years and older at all times for the safety of all guests, especially young children who have no other protection against the Covid virus.
