Places to Swim, Splash and Cool Off in the Naperville Area

Need to cool off on a hot day in Naperville area? Here's where to go!

Kids want to cool off, but not sure where to go in Naperville? Here is a list of splash pads and pools in the Naperville area to take kids on these hot summer days.

We advise always checking with the venue when possible before heading out as hours and availability can change due to any number of factors, ranging from weather to staffing issues.

Naper Settlement Splash Pad

What to expect: Nestled in a replica of a wooden fort, the Harvard Early Learning Playscape is designed for children ages 2 through 7 to explore the outdoors in a setting created just for them. The Playscape playground and splash pad provide opportunities for early childhood physical, imaginative and social development while promoting increased connections to the natural environment, local history and community engagement.

Dates and hours: May 15 through September 30.  No reservation is needed.

Admission price: Tuesday - Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm  
Sunday: 1 - 4 PM
Monday: Closed
Adult (13 and older): $12
Seniors (62 and older): $10
Youth (4-12): $8
Museum Members & Naperville Residents (with proof of residency): Complimentary

Special details: The water features in the Splash Pad are turned on between May 15 and September 30 on days that the temperature is above 70 degrees. Water will be shut off during lightning, heavy storms, tornadoes, and for repairs as needed.

95th Street Community Plaza Splash Pad

What to expect: The mission of the project is to encourage nearby students and residents of all ages and abilities to get outdoors, communicate and socialize with one another, and enjoy the many benefits of active and passive recreation in a beautiful campus setting.

Dates and hours: 9:00 am-8:00 pm daily Memoria Day to September.

Admission price: Free

Special details: Available only on a first come, first served basis. Please note that the splash pad is push-button operated and “zoned”; this means that certain features will run and rotate through a cycle, but not all elements will run at the same time.

Wolf’s Crossing Splash Pad

What to expect: This dynamic 33-acre park features recreational amenities for many ages and interests with activities to enjoy in every season.

Dates and hours: Opens Memorial Day. Hours 9:00 am -8:00 pm daily.

Admission price: Free

Hobson Corner Splash Pad

What to expect: The Hobson Corner Park Splash Pad has many features including ADA accessible splash pad, shade pergola, game picnic tables, portable restroom (seasonal) and parking lot.

Dates and hours: Memorial Day to September-Daily 9:00 am - 7:00 pm

Oak Brook Splash Pad

What to expect: Splash Island is our outdoor aquatic playground! Perfect for all ages, spend some fun in the sun with the whole family here. For the little splashers who might not be ready for the water, there is a splash pad with bubblers and jets, featuring fun aquatic animals. Splash Island features a zero-depth entry pool, slides, interactive features, dumping buckets, jets, and other spray features. There are lifeguards on duty at both the indoor and outdoor pool areas.

Dates and hours: June to September. Mon-Fri: 10am-8pm, Sat/Sun: 10am-3:30pm

Admission price: Residents: $10, Non-Residents: $12, Children 2 and under: Free

Special Details: Slash Island will be closed if the air temperature is below 70 degrees, or in the event of inclement weather. If the lightning detection system is activated, all outdoor areas must be closed until the “all clear” signal.

Centennial Beach

What to expect: Jump into summer as you swim in Centennial Beach’s historic stone quarry. It’s not a swimming pool, it’s not a lake, but a swimming experience like no other! Wade into the zero-depth entry and swim to depths of 15 feet. For generations, Centennial Beach has been the local “swimming hole” for many Naperville residents and their guests. It’s a great place to meet friends, gather with family, or simply relax and enjoy.
