May 24, 2023

On Saturday, May 27, the Naperville Park District’s water recreation destinations will begin daily summer hours for the 2023 season. Centennial Beach is the community’s unique swimming facility, located at 500 W. Jackson Avenue near downtown Naperville and featuring a sandy beach, zero depth entry, a large deep-water area, and several acres of open turf for relaxing in the shade or sun. The Paddleboat Quarry, located along the Riverwalk near Rotary Hill, offers rentals of paddleboats, kayaks, and paddleboards. The Park District’s two splash pads are located at Wolf’s Crossing Community Park, 3252 Wolf’s Crossing Road, and the 95th Street Community Plaza at Frontier Sports Complex, 3109 Cedar Glade Drive.

Centennial Beach has a full schedule of aquatic programs planned, including swim lessons for youth and adults, aquatic fitness classes, Beach Yoga, Paddleboard Yoga, Mudrats Swim Team, and springboard diving instruction. Special Needs Nights are returning Sunday evenings on June 11, June 25, and July 16, giving families with individuals who have special needs time to enjoy a relaxing visit after regular operating hours. Centennial Beach memberships are available to purchase online at www.napervilleparks.org/beachmemberships. Memberships purchased through May 29 will receive the preseason discounted rate. Member benefits include an early entry on weekdays, coupons for Park District amenities, a 10% discount at Centennial Grill, and two guest passes.

The Paddleboat Quarry is open daily from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. from May 27 through mid-August. Rentals are purchased on-site on a first-come, first-served basis for 20-minute or 40-minute rides.  Paddleboats can accommodate up to four people and kayaks include one-person or two-person rentals. Paddleboards are available for adults or for youth who are 13 years of age or older. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign the waiver.

Splash pads are free to use on a first-come, first-served basis and are open daily from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and on weekends through September, weather permitting.
