Playgrounds to Reopen at Wil-O-Way Commons, Gartner Park, Hobson Grove, and Timber Creek Park

Ribbon Cutting Events are set for September 12, 19, 21, and October 3

Naperville Park District invites the community to the reopening celebrations for four newly renovated playgrounds. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, September 12 at 5:00 p.m. at Wil-O-Way Commons, 1071 Jefferson Street

Tuesday, September 19 at 5:00 p.m. at Gartner Park, 524 W. Gartner Road

Thursday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m. at Hobson Grove, 1152 Larkspur Lane

Tuesday, October 3 at 5:00 p.m. at Timber Creek Park, 3323 Timber Creek Lane

Neighbors are invited to bring their families and friends to participate in a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, enjoy refreshments and giveaways, and explore the new play equipment. Naperville Park District Acquires Heritage Place Park

Construction of new park amenities to begin this fall.

On Tuesday, September 5, the Naperville City Council approved documents for the conveyance of Heritage Place Park to the Naperville Park District. Heritage Place Park is the 138th park to be added to the Park District system and is located at 130 N. Wright Street, just east of downtown Naperville. Classified as a neighborhood park, it will serve the surrounding neighborhood with amenities including a playground, picnic shelter, plaza, and open space.

Construction of the park amenities will begin this fall and the Park District anticipates holding an opening celebration in the spring of 2024.
